    Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the system of punishment at the upper secondary schools in Sweden during the twentieth century. The main research question is: how did the system of punishment function and change from 1905 to 1961? The investigations concentrate on the offences committed, the spatial features of the jurisdiction, the agents involved, as well as the systems of meaning that underscored the penal process. LÄS MER

The question is approached by reading and interacting critical theorist Judith Butler, psycholinguist Steven Pinker and theologian Colin Gunton.With Gunton the author argues that a relational, but ‘weak’, ontology is needed. The study investigates the social interaction between students with a special focus on the possibilities and hindrances for inclusion of the newcomer immigrant students in different groupings at school, and the ways these students handle possibilities and hindrances for social inclusion.     Sammanfattning : The present study examines how young students in the last year of comprehensive school make sense and use of the formal assessments they are given regarding their school performance. By interviewing 28 students in year nine of the Swedish compulsory school, ”talk about assessments” is analyzed as speech acts enabled by the assessment discourse. LÄS MER
