  1. 1. Multiple perspectives on health promotion in individuals with knee pain

    Författare :Charlotte Sylwander; Ingrid Larsson; Emma Haglund; Maria Andersson; Ulf Jakobsson; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Knee pain; chronic pain; health promotion; health prevention; health status; lifestyle habits; overweight; obesity; health literacy;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic musculoskeletal pain impacts the individual in multiple aspects of life (biological, psychological, and social). Individuals with knee pain have a higher risk of developingchronic widespread pain and knee osteoarthritis, compared to the general population, and the prevalence of chronic pain is estimated to rise.     Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dietary fat; Fatty acids; Serum fatty acid composition; Linoleic acid; Stearoyl coenzymeA desaturase; SCD-1; Inflammation; C-reactive protein; Oxidative stress; Lipid peroxidation; Isoprostanes; Prostaglandins; Obesity; Epidemiology; Dietary intervention; Metabolic syndrome; Nutrition; Näringslära; Epidemiology; Epidemiologi; Public health science; Folkhälsovetenskap; Immunology; Immunologi; Diabetology; Diabetologi; Cardiology; Kardiologi; Medical Science; Medicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Dietary fat quality influences the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. A low-grade inflammation is suggested to contribute to the disease development, often accompanied by obesity. Whereas n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) have been considered anti-inflammatory, n-6 PUFA have been proposed to act pro-inflammatory. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Prostaglandins and Isoprostanes in Relation to Risk Factors for Atherosclerosis : Role of Inflammation and Oxidative Stress

    Författare :Johanna Helmersson; Samar Basu; Bengt Vessby; Tommy Cederholm; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Public health; prostaglandin F2α; F2-isoprostane; interleukin-6; C-reactive protein; serum amyloid A; tocopherols; cardiovascular risk factors; variation; inflammation; oxidative stress; human; Folkhälsomedicin; Public health medicine research areas; Folkhälsomedicinska forskningsområden;

    Sammanfattning : Inflammation and oxidative stress may be involved in atherogenesis. This thesis describes clinical studies of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α), an inflammatory mediator, and the isoprostane 8-iso-PGF2α, a reliable indicator of oxidative stress, and cytokine-related inflammatory mediators and indicators in healthy subjects and in a population-based cohort of Swedish men. 4. 4. Polyurethane - occupational exposure, biomarkers and symptoms

    Författare :Margareta Littorin; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; spray; polyurethane; nose; metabolites; lung function ; lower airways; inflammation; heat; glue; genetic polymorphism; di isocyanate; Antibodies; biomarkers; Occupational health; industrial medicine; Yrkesmedicin; arbetsmiljömedicin; symptoms;

    Sammanfattning : Isocyanates may cause occupational asthma, rhinitis, and hypersensitivity pneumonitis. However, the mechanisms behind initiation of the disorders and the relations between exposure and effect are insufficiently elucidated. Means to biomonitor exposure and risk would be valuable.
