  1. 1. Polyurethane - occupational exposure, biomarkers and symptoms

    Detta är en avhandling från (Margareta Littorin), Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, University Hospital, S- 221 85 Lund, Sweden

    Författare :Margareta Littorin; [2002]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; spray; polyurethane; nose; metabolites; lung function ; lower airways; inflammation; heat; glue; genetic polymorphism; di isocyanate; Antibodies; biomarkers; Occupational health; industrial medicine; Yrkesmedicin; arbetsmiljömedicin; symptoms;

    Sammanfattning : Isocyanates may cause occupational asthma, rhinitis, and hypersensitivity pneumonitis. However, the mechanisms behind initiation of the disorders and the relations between exposure and effect are insufficiently elucidated. Means to biomonitor exposure and risk would be valuable. 2. 2. Water and Carbon Balance Modeling: Methods of Uncertainty Analysis

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH Royal Institute of Technology

    Författare :John Juston; Per-Erik Jansson; Georg Lindgren; [2010]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Modeling; uncertainty analysis; water balance; carbon balance; GLUE; TECHNOLOGY Other technology Environmental engineering; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Övriga teknikvetenskaper Miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : How do additional data of the same and/or different type contribute to reducing model parameter and predictive uncertainties? This was the question addressed with two models – the HBV hydrological water balance model and the ICBM soil carbon balance model – that were used to investigate the usefulness of the Generalized Likelihood Uncertainty Estimation (GLUE) method for calibrations and uncertainty analyses.  The GLUE method is based on threshold screening of Monte Carlo simulations using so-called informal likelihood measures and subjective acceptance criterion. 3. 3. Modeling the Seasonality of Carbon, Evapotranspiration and Heat Processes for Cold Climate Conditions

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Sihong Wu; Per-Erik Jansson; Andreas Ibröm; [2010]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; net ecosystem exchange NEE ; sensible and latent heat fluxes; photosynthesis; respiration; nitrogen turnover; Scots pine forest; bare soil; cold climate; soil physical characteristics; CoupModel; GLUE; TECHNOLOGY Civil engineering and architecture Other civil engineering and architecture; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur Övrig samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : The productivity of agricultural and forest ecosystems in regions at higher latitudes is to a large extent governed by low temperature and moisture conditions. Environmental conditions are acting both above- and below-ground and regulating carbon fluxes and evapotranspiration. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hydrological and sediment yield modelling in Lake Tana Basin, Blue Nile Ethiopia

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Shimelis Gebriye Setegn; Bijan Dargahi; Anders Wörman; C. Green Rossi; [2008]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SWAT; Lake Tana; Blue Nile; hydrological modelling; watershed modelling; MCE; SUFI-2; GLUE; ParaSol; streamflows; sediment yield; erosion; water balance; model calibration; NATURAL SCIENCES Earth sciences Atmosphere and hydrosphere sciences Hydrology; NATURVETENSKAP Geovetenskap Atmosfärs- och hydrosfärsvetenskap Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : Land and water resources degradation are the major problems on the Ethiopian highlands. Poor land use practices and improper management systems have played a significant role in causing high soil erosion rates, sediment transport and loss of agricultural nutrients. So far limited meas-ures have been taken to combat the problems. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Connections for Timber-Framed Structures - Assembly Properties and Structural Behaviour

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Dan Engström; [1997]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; frames; nails; connections; structures; interaction; glue; assembly; timber; economy; semi-rigidity; adhesive; joints; splices;

    Sammanfattning : By tradition, the design and development of connections has focused on the optimization of strength and stiffness. The subject of this thesis is the interaction between the assembly and structural properties of connections for timber-framed structures. LÄS MER
