  1. 1. Identification of tissue biomarkers of prognostic significance in pancreatic cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University: Faculty of Medicine

    Författare :Dingyuan Hu; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2019]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pancreatic cancer; proteomics; mass spectrometry; Biomarkers; prognosis; CLCA1; pankreascancer; proteomik; masspektrometri; biomarkörer; prognos; CLCA1;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related mortality. Lack of early detection strategies and therapeutic resistance are main contributors to the poor prognosis. Unfortunately, there are no tissue biomarkers available for the prognosis of pancreatic cancer in routine clinical use. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Biomarkers in pancreatic and other periampullary cancers - some familiar and one new

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University: Faculty of Medicine

    Författare :Margareta Heby; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Periampullary adenocarcinoma; Pancreatic cancer; Biomarkers; Immunohistochemistry; Tissue microarrays;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractBackground: Adenocarcinomas arising in the area around the papilla of Vater are referred to as periampullary adenocarcinomas and are of four different anatomical origins: pancreas, distal bile duct, ampulla and duodenum. These heterogeneous tumors are usually divided into two morphological subtypes, pancreatobiliary type (PB-type) and intestinal type (I-type), which provides more important prognostic information than tumor origin. 3. 3. FROM SERUM TO TISSUE: GALECTIN-BINDING GLYCOFORMS OF SERUM GLYCOPROTEINS AS FUNCTIONAL BIOMARKERS

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University

    Författare :Michael Carlsson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Galectin; glycoproteins; intracellular sorting; biomarkers;

    Sammanfattning : Galectins are small soluble proteins defined by a conserved sequence motif that forms a defining β-galactoside binding site shared among galectins; adjacent binding sites give each galectin a unique fine specificity for a specific subset of galactose containing glycans. A wealth of data now suggests important roles of galectins in both cancer and inflammation. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Analysis of Metabolites in Complex Biological Samples Using LC/MS and Multivariate Data Analysis : Metabolic Fingerprinting and Detection of Biomarkers

    Författare :Helena Idborg; Stockholms universitet.; [2007]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metabolomics; Metabonomics; Metabolic Fingerprinting; Drug Metabolism; Biomarkers; Human Plasma; Rat Urine; LC MS; ZIC-HILIC; UPLC; UHPLC; ToF; Curve Resolution; Peak Detection; Pattern Recognition; Classification; PCA; PLS; PARAFAC; N-PLS; Data Fusion; Hierarchical Modeling; Batch modeling; Data Concatenation; Breast Cancer; Phospholipidosis; NATURAL SCIENCES Chemistry Analytical chemistry; NATURVETENSKAP Kemi Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : To facilitate early diagnosis of diseases and elucidation of the processes involved in their development and progression, various specific compounds or ‘biomarkers’ are often monitored. The first step is to decide which compounds to analyze. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Acute Pancreatitis. Biomarkers and radiology assessment

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University: Faculty of Medicine

    Författare :Hanna Sternby; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2017]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; acute pancreatitis; severity grade; Biomarkers; morphology; classification; radiology assessment; Acute pancreatitis; severity grade; Biomarkers; morphology; classification; radiology assessment;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a common and potentially severe disease. Early identification of severity grade is crucial for the outcome of the patient. For study approaches and comparison of inter-institutional data the AP patients need to be uniformly classified. LÄS MER
