11. Child Psychiatric Patients Affected by Intimate Partner Violence and Child Abuse – Disclosure, Prevalence and Consequences
Sammanfattning : The overall aims of this thesis were (1) to document the prevalence of child abuse and exposure to intimate partner violence (IPV) among child and adolescent mental health care (CAM) patients, (2) to study the clinicians’ attitudes towards asking routinely about IPV, (3) to compare psychiatric symptoms between patients with (a) experience of family violence (child abuse and/or exposure to IPV) (b) experience of violence outside the family and (c) patients with no such experiences, and (4) compare psychiatric symptoms between patients who had both witnessed IPV and been subjected to child abuse with those either subjected to child abuse or those who had witnessed IPV, but not both. An additional aim in study IV was to explore the importance of concordance/discordance between children’s and parents’ reports of occurrence of IPV. LÄS MER
12. Children in group interventions after exposure to violence toward a caregiver : Experiences, needs, and outcomes
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of three empirical studies, all part of the same research project, with a general aim to explore interventions for children exposed to intimate partner violence (IPV). Because witnessing violence toward a caregiver is associated with negative impact on children’s health and development, effective interventions for children exposed to IPV are necessary. LÄS MER
13. Endosonography of the anal spincter in women with particular reference to obstetric sphincter tears
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study the endosonographic morphology of the anal sphincter in women, to establish an endosonographic sphincter defect score and to relate it to anal incontinence and anal sphincter pressure. A further aim was to determine intra-observer and inter-observer agreement in detection of endosonographic anal sphincter defects. LÄS MER
14. Balancing - Cancer from a primary care perspective. Diagnosis, posttraumatic stress, and end-of-life care
Sammanfattning : This thesis explores cancer from a primary care perspective covering three areas: diagnosis, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and end-of-life care. We analyzed patient records of every child diagnosed with a malignancy in a defined area. During 12 years 68 children were diagnosed (incidence 14/100,000). LÄS MER
