- Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press
Sammanfattning : Voltage-gated ion channels have a paramount importance in many physiological processes such as cell-to-cell communication, action potential-propagation, and cell motility. Voltage-gated ion channels are characterized by their ability to sense membrane voltage and to greatly change channel activity in response to small changes in the voltage. LÄS MER
- Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå University
Sammanfattning : Proteins function as worker molecules in the cell and their natural environment is crowded. How they fold in a cell-like environment and how they recognize their interacting partners in such conditions, are questions that underlie the work of this thesis. LÄS MER
- Detta är en avhandling från Department of Biochemistry, Lund University
Sammanfattning : The main objective of this thesis was to gain further insight into the relationship between the exposed surfaces and the functional properties of antibodies and their complexes with antigens in solution. To study this relationship, a new technique, liquid-liquid partition chromatography (LLPC) in aqueous two-phase systems, was developed further with respect to sensitivity, selectivity and reproducibility. Sammanfattning : Ribokinase phosphorylates the abundant sugar ribose, using ATP in the presence of magnesium. The phosphorylation is the first reaction in ribose metabolism and the product, ribose-5-phosphate, can enter the pentose phosphate pathway and glycolysis. It can also be used in the synthesis of histidine and purines. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The challenges for efficient bioprocesses lie in developing and adapting further current technologies or in creating innovative separation technologies. The thesis is based on the studies on protein recovery from crude feedstocks by extraction in aqueous two-phase systems and detergent foam, respectively. LÄS MER
