Sammanfattning : The purpose of this doctoral thesis is to read August Strindberg’s Giftas in relation to two strands: conduct books on one hand and consumer culture on the other, and to analyse representations of the presence of didactic, disciplinary subject positions as well as the presence of consumer culture, in relation to gender and exercise of power.In the thesis the concepts of consumption/consumerism, including transaction and exposition, are introduced and analysed, as well as the discussion around the status of marriage, and the debate about gender differences and power relations at the time of the publication of Giftas. 3. När musik gör skillnad : genus och genrepraktiker i samspel
Sammanfattning : The specific aim of the thesis is to highlight and problematise how gender in interplay with practice of genre is expressed and constructed in musical action. I discuss the interplay between gender and genre practice in conjunction with music education based on the em- pirical findings from eight ensemble groups in Swedish upper secondary arts programmes. 4. Med Lenin på byrån - normer kring klass, genus och sexualitet i den svenska kommunistiska rörelsen 1921-1939
Sammanfattning : The thesis Med Lenin på byrån (With Lenin on the drawer) studies magazines produced by the Swedish communist movement during the inter-war years and has two aims; firstly to determine if (and how) class-norms were constructed through descriptions of gender and sexuality, and secondly if (and how) norms regarding gender and sexuality were constructed through descriptions of class. One of the underlying motivations has been to highlight a different approach to labour history than those commonly used in Sweden to date. LÄS MER
5. A Nice Place : The Everyday Production of Pleasure and Political Correctness at Work
Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigates heterosexed reality as an ongoing accomplishment by the members at a workplace. Observations were carried out sporadically for two years at a museum. During this period twelve formal interviews, fifteen informal interviews, three formal group interviews and three informal group interviews were also conducted. LÄS MER
