Sammanfattning : The aim was to investigate the presence of everyday problems in men with prostate cancer, their relation to health-related quality of life, HRQOL, and sense of coherence, SOC, and to compare with men with benign prostatic hyperplasia, BPH, and a sample from the general population. The aim also was to investigate what nursing care needs there were in men with prostate cancer and how these were met during an in-patient period. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : This thesis examines associations between a number of epidemiological or biological markers of cancer risk and oxidative stress, in order to achieve a better understanding of how diet, lifestyle, and genetic factors contribute to the occurrence of oxidative stress. Data from the Malmö Diet and Cancer (MDC) cohort was used. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis was to molecularly characterize urothelial carcinoma (UC) at the transcriptional level using gene expression microarrays to improve the classification and pathogenetic understanding of this disease. In the first two studies (Articles I and II), gene expression profiling was used to study dysregulated transcriptional networks in a large cohort of UCs. LÄS MER
