    Sammanfattning : This thesis aimed to study differences in early memory ability, social attention and interaction and how these different areas affect language and cognitive development. This was done using a longitudinal approach where a group of children were followed from infancy to childhood and also in a comparative study where a group of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder was compared to a group of typically developing children, matched on language age.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of the present thesis is to study whether and how professionals from such different areas as medicine, preschool and school develop and reorganize, through inter-disciplinary focus group discussions, their competence regarding reading-and-writing difficulties/dyslexia.The theoretical framework is based on sociocultural theory of mediated action, focusing on notions such as alterity, intersubjectivity, dialogicality, mastery, appropriation, practical consciousness and discursive consciousness. Besides exploring questions such as how student and novice teachers think about quality assessment, there is the question of what challenges teachers face in assessing one language (English), among many others known or spoken in the linguistically heterogeneous classroom.
