  1. 1. Meaning and Action in Sustainability Science : Interpretive approaches for social-ecological systems research

    Författare :Simon West; Lisen Schultz; Lorrae van Kerkhoff; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Meaning; interpretive; social-ecological system; complexity; science-policy interface; transformation; sustainability science methodology; Sustainability Science; vetenskap om hållbar utveckling;

    Sammanfattning : Social-ecological systems research is interventionist by nature. As a subset of sustainability science, social-ecological systems research aims to generate knowledge and introduce concepts that will bring about transformation. Yet scientific concepts diverge in innumerable ways when they are put to work in the world. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Teachers in action : att förändra och utveckla undervisning och lärande i engelska i de tidigare skolåren

    Författare :Gun Lundberg; Anders Garpelin; Anna Larsson; Inger Andersson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :English; young learners; in-service; action research; teaching and learning;

    Sammanfattning : Sweden has for many years suffered from a shortage of teachers appropriately trained to teach English to young learners. In 1987 The Swedish National Agency for Higher Education decided that English should no longer be a compulsory subject within primary teacher training, instead it was offered as an optional subject within the primary teacher training programmes This policy decision had dire consequences and ultimately led to the current position which sees a mere 30 % of trainee Teachers opting for the English language pathway. 4. 4. 'Getting' it Together In Joint Directed Action

    Författare :Christina Mauléon; Philippe Lorino; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; HUMANIORA; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANITIES; emotion; interpretational-relational; language discourse; Joint Directed Action; meaning making sensemaking; quality sciences; relational landscape; identity; action.; relational landscape identity; action;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is focused upon investigating how come activities in organizations are sometimes not aligned with an objective at hand, be it a project goal, safety, quality or other. When something goes wrong, where are the answers to be found? In the pursuit to examine these questions further, the aim of the thesis has been to investigate meaning making in action as this can increase an understanding of how actors may continuously align their actions, collective and/or individual, with a common goal – this process here being called Joint Directed Action (JDA). 5. 5. Bringing System Dynamics into Action Research

    Författare :Paul Holmström; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; process consultation; Operations Research; simulation; action research; modelling; System Dynamics; healthcare;

    Sammanfattning : System Dynamics simulation is a computer-aided approach to policy analysis and design, often carried out by external experts in simulation. System Dynamics is particularly useful in complicated and complex situations, such as healthcare. However, research has shown that few models in healthcare are implemented. LÄS MER
