  1. 1. Symbolfunktion och mening : En undersökning av den psykoanalytiska psykoterapins artegna väsen

    Författare :Hans Kaatari; Lars Jacobsson; Ellinor Salander Renberg; Gudrun Olsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Psychiatry; psychoanalytic psychotherapy; symbolic function; free association; transference interpretation; Oedipus complex; the unconscious; psychosis; hermeneutics; praxis; reflexive research into appropriation of meaning; Psykiatri; Psychiatry; psykiatri;

    Sammanfattning : This work in two parts – entitled Symbolic Function and Meaning: An Investigation of the Species-Specific Essence of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy – could be characterized as an interpretation of the above-mentioned therapy and the meaning of its particular experience. In the first part, besides a licentiate thesis, four topics are examined: the therapeutic framework, the transference – especially in neurotic form – and its interpretation, psychotherapy with borderline patients, and therapy with psychotics. 2. 2. Laboratory methods for investigation of the immunological orchestra in response to pathogens

    Författare :Hanna Carlsson; Ivar Tjernberg; Christina Ekerfelt; Kristina Nilsson Ekdahl; Jorma Hinkula; Matti Sällberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Borrelia; Influenza; Immunology; Immune response; Cellmediated; Serological; Subclinical; ELISA; Luminex; Proximity extension assay;

    Sammanfattning : Laboratory methods used for investigation of immune response often involve collection of whole blood and analysis of different biomarkers in blood components or generated from pathogen stimulation of whole blood or peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). Methods used to measure biomarkers are for example enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) which measures one biomarker at a time or multiplex assays for example x-unknown, multi-analyte profiling (xMAP) by Luminex or proximity extension assay (PEA), which can measure up to just over 3000 biomarkers at a time. 4. 4. Search for Type 2 Diabetes Susceptibility Genes Using Multiple Approaches

    Författare :Cecilia Lindgren; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; single nucleotide polymorphism SNP ; transmission-disequilibrium test TDT ; genetic variation; single strand conformational polymorphism SSCP ; gene expression; insulin; glucose; genome-wide scan; linkage; genetic association; Type 2 diabetes; early onset diabetes EOD ; sekretion; diabetologi; Endokrinologi; diabetology; Endocrinology; secreting systems; signal-to-noise ratio SNR ;

    Sammanfattning : Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a multifactorial disorder characterized by chronic hyperglycemia resulting from pancreatic dysfunction and insulin resistance. It is a common disorder with a complex pattern of inheritance, likely to reflect the influence of multiple genetic and environmental factors on the diabetes risk. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Telomeres and the brain : an investigation into the relationships of leukocyte telomere length with functional and structural attributes of the brain

    Författare :Mikael Wikgren; Karl-Fredrik Norrback; Rolf Adolfsson; Göran Roos; Thomas Karlsson; Brenda Penninx; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; APOE; aging; atrophy; brain; cognition; cortisol; depression; hippocampus; HPA axis; MRI; stress; telomere length; white matter hyper-intensities.;

    Sammanfattning : Telomeres are the outermost parts of linear chromosomes. They consist of tandemly repeated non-coding short nucleotide sequences (TTAGGG in all vertebrates), in humans spanning over the last 2 to 15 kilobase pairs of the chromosome. Due to the end-replication problem, telomeres shorten with each cellular division. LÄS MER
