  1. 1. Methods for Determination of Benzo(a)pyrene and High Molecular Weight (>300 Da) Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Particulate Matter from Ambient Air and Vehicle Exhausts

    Författare :Christoffer Bergvall; Roger Westerholm; Stephen Wise; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PAH; dibenzopyrene; benzo a pyrene; standard reference material; air particulate matter; diesel particulate matter; toxic equivalence factor; ultrasonic assisted extraction; accelerated solvent extraction; automation; online coupling; GC MC; LC GC MS; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Air pollution with particulate matter (PM) raises considerable concern because of its adverse effects on human health. For this reason, and because the mechanisms of PM toxicity are not fully known, there is an urgent need to determine the chemical constituents of atmospheric PM, especially PM emanating from traffic - a major source of urban PM. 2. 2. Modelling and Characterisation of the Martensite Formation in Low Alloyed Carbon Steels

    Författare :Jessica Gyhlesten Back; Lars-Erik Lindgren; Göran Engberg; Bevis Hutchinson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dilatometry; Hardness; EBSD; Martensite; Austenite; Kurdjumov-Sachs; Phase transformation; Modelling; Material Mechanics; Materialmekanik; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering; Stålformning och ytteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The current work contains experimental and theoretical work about the formation of martensite from the austenitic state of the steel Hardox 450. Simulation of rolling and subsequent quenching of martensitic steel plates requires a model that can account for previous deformation, current stresses and the temperature history, therefore dilatometry experiments were performed, with and without deformation. 3. 3. Influences of alumina on fayalite-type slags properties : an experimental study on leaching and melting behaviours

    Författare :Sina Mostaghel; Luleå tekniska universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Recycling of secondary raw materials by non-ferrous metal producers is steadily increasing. These materials inevitably introduce various impurities to the production furnaces, which can change the chemical composition, and thereafter, the physical and chemical properties of the products and by-products. 4. 4. Influence of the properties of bio-coal as a substitute for fossil coal in carbon composite agglomerates and in coke

    Författare :Asmaa El-Tawil; Lena Sundqvist Ökvist; Bo Björkman; Timo Fabritius; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bio-coal; devolatilization; bio-agglomerates; bio-coke; Centrumbildning - Centrum för avancerad gruvteknik och metallurgi CAMM ; Centre - Centre for Advanced Mining Metallurgy CAMM ; Process Metallurgy; Processmetallurgi;

    Sammanfattning : The iron-ore-based blast furnace (BF) process is still the most dominant method for producing metallic iron units for steelmaking, and the BF is also the main contributor to the 7-9% of global CO2 emissions which, according to World Steel Association, originate from the steel industry.  The steel industry is aiming to reduce CO2 emissions by different means. 5. 5. Foam Core Materials for High Performance Sandwich Constructions: Preparation, Testing and Properties

    Författare :Mikael Danielsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :IPN; core material; low temperature; polyurea; polyethersulfone; gradient structure; foam; PVC; sandwich; waste; fire; smoke; toxicity; mechanical properties; Inter Penetrating Polymer Network; dynamic properties; high temperature;

    Sammanfattning : The basic task for foams used as core materials in sandwich constructions is to separate the skin layers in order to enhance stiffness with little contribution to the total weight. However, modern design in sandwich technology require that core materials contribute to the perfor-mance with specific mechanical and physical properties. LÄS MER
