Sammanfattning : The first essay, Edutainment Radio, Women’s Status and Primary School Participation: Evidence from Cambodia, investigates whether exposure to education-entertainment radio leads to improved women's status and primary school participation. Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the study of the phase behavior of starch ? protein systems in relation to their microstructure and mechanical properties. Sammanfattning : The study explores the complex aspects of representation of “immigrants”, in informal as well as formal contexts. Based on fieldwork, participant observation, individual and focus group interviews carried out in a number of multi-ethnic suburbs throughout Sweden, as well as analysis of political documents and press material, the study explores different ways in which “immigrants” are represented in Swedish society. Sammanfattning : By exploring representations of place, this thesis treats practices of spatial stigmatisation in the context of segregated Swedish cities. In three papers, different aspects of stigmatisation and place-making are discussed and analysed, where the overarching ambition is to identify and critically deconstruct the ideology behind stigma as well as suggest ways of making representation positive.
