  1. 1. Prosocial Behavior, Social Interaction and Development: Experimental Evidence from Vietnam

    Författare :Nam Pham Khanh; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Voluntary contribution; local public goods; social influence; default contribution; conditional cooperation; disclosure; social preferences; preferences for relative position; preference stability; moral licensing; moral cleansing; adaptation to climate change; social capital; field experiment; natural experiment; lab experiment; Vietnam.;

    Sammanfattning : Paper 1. Funding a New Bridge in Rural Vietnam: A Field Experiment on Conditional Cooperation and Default Contributions The ability to provide public goods is essential for economic and social development, yet there is very limited empirical evidence regarding contributions to a real local public good in developing countries. 2. 2. The measurement of chemical persistence in the field by benchmarking : Theory and Experiment

    Författare :Hongyan Zou; Michael McLachlan; Keri Hornbuckle; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; chemical benchmarking; persistence; half-lives; modeling; threshold benchmarking; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Persistence is one of the core criteria in chemical exposure and hazard assessment. It is often defined as the half-life for the removal of a chemical from a specified environment by transformation. Chemicals with long transformation half-lives may pose high risks for wildlife or humans and be subject to long-range transport to remote areas. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Lab work in science education : Instruction, inscription, and the practical achievement of understanding

    Författare :Oskar Lindwall; Berner Lindström; Tim Koschmann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Lab work; science education; educational technology; classroom interaction; ethnomethodology; naturvetenskapliga laborationer; IT i utbildning; klassrumsstudier; etnometodologi; Education; Pedagogik;

    Sammanfattning : Taking an analytical perspective founded on ethnomethodology and conversation analysis, the four studies presented in this thesis provide detailed analyses of video recorded lab work in mechanics at secondary and university level. The investigated activities all build on educational design afforded by a technology called probeware. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Incentives in Education and Moral Behavior in Groups

    Författare :Pol Campos-Mercade; Nationalekonomiska institutionen; []

  5. 5. Hydrodynamic and Microbiological Modelling of Water Quality in Drinking Water Sources

    Författare :Ekaterina Sokolova; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ECO Lab; Bacteroidales; inactivation; microcosm experiment; fate and transport modelling; pathogens; microbial source tracking; MIKE 3; faecal indicators;

    Sammanfattning : Faecal contamination of drinking water sources poses risks for waterborne disease outbreaks. To manage these risks the fate and transport of faecal contamination in a drinking water source need to be understood and quantitatively described. LÄS MER
