  1. 1. Prognostic factors and tumor treatments in hepatocellular cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborgs universitet

    Författare :Malin Sternby Eilard; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2019]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hepatocellular cancer; prognostication;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common causes of cancer-related death worldwide. Prognosis is related to tumor burden, liver function, and performance status as well as treatment factors. Accurate prognostication is a requisite for optimal treatment decisions. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The Helicobacter genus now consists of at least 26 species, with additional novel species in the process of being validated. Beyond the impact of H. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mangafodipir trisodium (MnDPDP)-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging of the liver and pancreas

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Chen Wang; Uppsala universitet.; [1998]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Liver; pancreas; neoplasms; metastases; endocrine tumor; MR imaging; contrast medium; mangafodipir trisodium; MnDPDP; manganese; Onkologi; MEDICINE Surgery Oncology; MEDICIN Kirurgi Onkologi; diagnostisk radiologi; Diagnostic Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the liver and pancreas is frequently performed to improve the sensitivity and specificity of lesion detection in these organs. The concept of using tissue-specific contrast media is to selectively enhance the normal parenchyma, but not lesions, so that the contrast between tumorous and normal tissue is increased, and lesion detectability improved. 4. 4. Biopharmaceutical Evaluation of Intra-arterial Drug-Delivery Systems for Liver Cancer Investigations in healthy pigs and liver cancer patients

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Elsa Lilienberg; Uppsala universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; in vivo release; drug delivery systems; local delivery; drug disposition; doxorubicin; hepatocellular carcinoma; transarterial chemoembolization; transarterial chemotherapy infusion; Pharmaceutical Science; Farmaceutisk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : There are currently two types of intra-arterial drug-delivery system (DDS) in clinical use in the palliative treatment of primary liver cancer. The chemotherapeutic drug doxorubicin (DOX) can be formulated into a drug-in-lipiodol emulsion (LIPDOX) or a microparticulate drug-eluting bead system (DEBDOX). LÄS MER

  5. 5. TGFβ and LXR signaling in hepatocellular carcinoma

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Claudia Bellomo; Uppsala universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hepatocellular Carcinoma; high-throughput imaging; small molecules; epithelial plasticity; LXR; Snail; TGFβ; tumor suppression; reactive oxygen species; cancer-associated fibroblast; myofibroblast; Smad3; αSMA;

    Sammanfattning : Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most prevalent cancer types in the Western world and in the Asia-pacific regions, with its incidence expected to rise up to 22 million cases till 2020. Hepatocellular carcinoma etiology is mainly due to hepatitis B (HBV) and hepatitis C (HCV) infections, and to a lesser extent it is determined by the development of alcohol-driven cirrhosis and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
