    Sammanfattning : The study explores the complex aspects of representation of “immigrants”, in informal as well as formal contexts. Based on fieldwork, participant observation, individual and focus group interviews carried out in a number of multi-ethnic suburbs throughout Sweden, as well as analysis of political documents and press material, the study explores different ways in which “immigrants” are represented in Swedish society.     Sammanfattning : The everyday experiences of young Japanese individuals in creative careers, living in the neighborhood of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York City, is the starting point for this study that investigates the informants strategies in the creative field they belong to, as well as how cosmopolitanism and globalization is experienced on an individual level.     Sammanfattning : Through a thorough analysis of all eighteen episodes of Ulysses, this study advances a dialectical reading of Ireland’s pre-revolutionary imagination as it unfolds in James Joyce’s novel. By tracing Joyce’s engagements with British colonialism, national romanticism and the Celtic Revival, this study views Joyce’s modernist project as a comprehensive literary response to Ireland’s changing aesthetic sensibilities, political fortunes, and social concerns.
