  1. 6. Genetic and epidemiological aspects of implantation defects : Studies on recurrent miscarriage, preeclampsia and oocyte donation

    Författare :Evangelia Elenis; Agneta Skoog Svanberg; Alkistis Skalkidou; Gunilla Sydsjö; Helena Åkerud; Anja Pinborg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Angiogenesis; genetic polymorphism; gestational hypertensive disorders; Histidine-rich glycoprotein; HRG; implantation defect; oocyte donation; placentation; preeclampsia; recurrent miscarriage; SNP.; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology;

    Sammanfattning : Implantation requires complex molecular and cellular events involving coagulation, angiogenesis and immunological processes that need to be well regulated for a pregnancy to establish and progress normally.  The overall aim of this thesis was to study different models associated with atypical angiogenesis, impaired implantation and/or placentation, such as recurrent miscarriage (RM), oocyte donation (OD) and preeclampsia. 3. 8. Risk Estimation and Prediction of Preeclampsia, IUGR, and Thrombosis in Pregnancy

    Författare :Pelle Lindqvist; Malmö Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; gynaecology; andrology; Obstetrics; Thrombosis; Smoking; Risk estimation; Risk; Pregnancy; Preeclampsia; IUGR; Evolution; Fetal loss; Abortion; APC resistance; reproduction; Obstetrik; sexuality; sexualitet; reproduktion; andrologi; gynekologi;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to improve background knowledge for making a reliable medical evaluation at the first visit of a woman in her 13th gestational week, to the antenatal clinic. We have focused on the prediction and the risk estimation of preeclampsia, intra-uterine growth restriction (IUGR), and thrombosis. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Placental molecular mechanisms as pathways linking prenatal exposure to ambient air pollution to preeclampsia and fetal growth

    Författare :Yumjirmaa Mandakh; Avdelningen för arbets- och miljömedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Preeclampsia; Ambient air pollution; placenta; Small-for-gestational age; mitochondrial DNA content; telomere length; global DNA methylation; gene expression; epigenetic age;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Preeclampsia (PE) is a “multifactorial syndrome” in which ambient air pollution may contribute to the etiology of PE. However, the underlying mechanism of this association is not clearly elucidated. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Epidemiological Studies of Preeclampsia : Maternal & Offspring Perspectives

    Författare :Jóhanna Gunnarsdóttir; Anna-Karin Wikström; Sven Cnattingius; Ulf Högberg; Alexander Smárason; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Placental dysfunction; blood pressure; small-for-gestational-age; fetal growth restriction; intrauterine; prenatal exposure; postnatal height gain; linear growth;

    Sammanfattning : Preeclampsia is a placental-related disorder characterized by generalized endothelial activation. Vascular predisposition is associated with the occurrence of preeclampsia and the recurrence risk is substantial. LÄS MER
