    Sammanfattning : This corpus-based study examines adjectives and adjectival expressions used to describe characters in British children’s fiction. The focus is on diachronic variation, by comparing Victorian (19th-century) and contemporary (late 20th-century) children’s fiction, and on gender variation, by comparing the descriptions of female and male characters.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to contribute knowledge about children’s image-vision, image-thinking and image- and filmmaking in preschool, through a collaboration with children and digital film technology, and about Gilles Deleuze’s film philosophy (1989) as well as digital videography and the methodology created in the research process.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of the present thesis was, first, to study how parents and other adults percieve or judge children’s accident risk, and, secondly, to relate such judgements to the subjects’ preferences for and satisfaction with different residential conditions.A theoretical framework is proposed which assumes that judgements of children’s accident risk are based on beliefs about what causes accidents to children.     Sammanfattning : Children across the globe today are continuously being exposed to and affected by various kinds of real-world complexities and challenges; however, research on their knowledge and practices in terms of sustainability is limited, in particular with regards to how preschool- and home-related factors are associated with their learning for sustainability. Since 1998, different types of eco-certification have been awarded by the Swedish National Agency for Education and Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation to promote education for sustainability (EfS) in all areas of education and learning.
