  1. 1. Activation and Regulation of TRPV1 : Studies in Recombinant Human Neuroblastoma TRPV1-SHSY5Y Cells

    Författare :Johanna EL Andaloussi-Lilja; Anna Forsby; Antonio Ferrer-Montiel; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; nociception; neurotrophic factors; eye irritation; stable transfection; Ca2 ; Neurochemistry; Neurokemi; Neurochemistry and Molecular Neurobiology; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi;

    Sammanfattning : TRPV1 is a transmembrane non-selective cation channel with preference for Ca2+. The receptor is primarily localised on dorsal root ganglion neurons and is activated by numerous endogenous and exogenous potentially irritating ligands eliciting pain. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Studies of ligand- and temperature-gated ion channels using microfluidic methods

    Författare :Maria Millingen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; solution exchange; desensitization; temperature-gated; ion channel; temperature control; ligand-gated; TRPV1; GABAA receptor; microfluidics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the studies of the GABAA receptor, a ligand-gated ion channel, and the ligand- and temperature-gated ion channel TRPV1. The desensitization behavior of both of these proteins has been studied for different conditions, using a microfluidic device for superfusion. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Microvascular inflammatory response in the skin

    Författare :Vladimir Evilevitch; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering; Physiology; Fysiologi; radiologi; Klinisk fysiologi; medical instrumentation; tomography; radiology; Clinical physics; sodium nitroprusside; terbutaline; anandamide; TRPV1; skin prick test; vanilloid receptor; skin microcirculation; laser Doppler imaging; Plasma exudation; vasodilatation;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines the microvascular inflammatory response in the skin. The microvascular response includes vasodilatation and plasma exudation. In the first three studies, the combined response was measured in guinea pig skin with a technique based on detection of radiolabelled protein. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Endogenous activators of the pain receptor TRPV1 From cell to man

    Författare :Pouya Movahed Rad; Avdelningen för klinisk kemi och farmakologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; cannabinoids; capsazepine; N-acylethanolamines; anandamide; blood Circulation; vasodilation; humans; calcitonin Gene-related Peptide; capsaicin; neurogenic inflammation; nociceptors; TRPV1 protein; pain;

    Sammanfattning : N-acylethanolamines (NAEs) belong to a growing family of endogenous signalling molecules acting on a variety of receptors and ion channels. In 1992, it was reported that the N-acylethanolamine anandamide is present in the brain and activates the central cannabinoid (CB) receptor. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Evolution of acetylcholine receptors and study of the anatomy of the mouse brain reward system

    Författare :Julia Pedersen; Dan Larhammar; Arnaud Chatonnet; Uppsala universitet; []
