    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the studies of the GABAA receptor, a ligand-gated ion channel, and the ligand- and temperature-gated ion channel TRPV1.     Sammanfattning : Pentameric ligand-gated ion channels (pLGICs) are key components of fast synaptic transmission and are targets of neuroactive drugs such as benzodiazepines, alcohol and muscle relaxants. The precise localization of proteins composing a synapse on the membrane facing a nerve terminus is essential for proper functioning of the nervous system.
