  1. 1. Influence of water conditions on growth and mineral nutrient uptake of native plants on clacareous soil

    Författare :Aparna Misra; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; agricultural hydrology; Lantbrukshydrologi; marklära; Växtekologi; Plant ecology; wet growing; wet dry cycles; soil solution; soil moisture; pH; nutrient poor soil; mineral nutrients; dry growing; Bicarbonate; calicole; Soil Science;

    Sammanfattning : The studies presented in Papers I to IV illustrate the importance of soil moisture in soil solution chemistry and response of native plants to the changes induced by change in moisture regime. With the help of glasshouse experiments I tried to study the influence of different treatments of soil moisture conditions on the mineral uptake by native plants of calcareous soil. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Models for Wet Scrubbing of SO2 and NOx

    Författare :Charlotte Brogren; Institutionen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; limestone scrubbing; wet scrubbing; absorption; WFGD; flue gases; SO2; mass transfer; NOx; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Combustion of fossil fuels is the main source for emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides. Emission regulations and the growing environmental awareness will make great demands upon cost-effective deSO2 and deNOx techniques in the future. LÄS MER

  3. 3. On the oxidation of kraft pulp - Formation of carbonyl groups during acidic hydrogen peroxide oxidation

    Författare :Axel Martinsson; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bleaching; Hydrogen Peroxide; wet-strength; cellulose oxidation;

    Sammanfattning : A shift from fossil based to bio based raw material is necessary if the needs of a growing population are to be fulfilled sustainably. Today, the packaging industry is heavily dependent on products originating from fossil feedstocks. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Land-atmosphere exchange of carbon in a high-Arctic wet tundra ecosystem

    Författare :Torbern Tagesson; BECC: Biodiversity and Ecosystem services in a Changing Climate; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbon; methane; carbon dioxide; climate change; Arctic; NDVI; NDWI; micrometeorology; remote sensing; chamber; tundra;

    Sammanfattning : Arctic ecosystems play a key role in the terrestrial carbon (C) cycle, but spa-tially explicit data on the C exchange is scarce in these remote areas. The global warming is especially dominant in the Arctic, and these areas are vul-nerable to climate change. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Interception and storage of wet deposited radionuclides in crops : field experiments and modelling

    Författare :Stefan Bengtsson; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The emission of radionuclides into the atmosphere from various sources, such as nuclear power plant accidents and nuclear bomb explosions, can result in the interception and uptake of radionuclides by crops in the agricultural ecosystem. These radionuclides e.g. LÄS MER
