    Sammanfattning : The focus in this thesis is young peoples’ (aged 17–20) experiences of leaving out-of-home care (OHC) and making the transition into adulthood. Prior research shows care leavers as a vulnerable group making the transition to adulthood at younger age, in shorter duration and with less support than their peers. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Aim: The overall aim of this thesis was to acquire knowledge about whether tactile touch as a complementary method can (i) promote comfort and (ii) reduce stress reactions during care in an intensive care unit (ICU) Method: In Paper I, five nurses with a touch therapist training were interviewed about their experiences of preparation before giving tactile touch in an ICU. To analyse the meaning of preparation as a phenomenon, Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological approach was used. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : After oesophageal cancer surgery it is known that patients have a reduced QOL and that they suffer an unmet need of support. The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate patients’ experiences of QOL and supportive care as well as to evaluate a telephone based nurse-led supportive care programme to patients after oesophageal cancer surgery.
