    Sammanfattning : This dissertation makes up the first report based on data collected during the project "Teenagers: aspects of their life style and attitudes" (Tonåringens livssituation och livstolkning) in the subject Religious Studies taken by pupils attending Year 9 during the 1993/94 school year.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to consider how Swedish governmental foreign aid policy could bedirected with the help of an ethical basis for judgement that is constructed here, and that answersthe question of what global moral obligations human beings have to assist one other. Theconstruction of the basis for judgement takes its starting point in two empirical questions: first,what are the main characteristics of Swedish governmental aid policy, and secondly, what opinions are expressed in the public debate about the direction of this policy.
