What is the relation between teenagers’ life interpretation and values and social circumstances? What challenges to school religious education do the teenagers’ perceptions and statements represent? These questions are central to the study Icelandic Teenagers’ Life Interpretation and Values.The purpose of the study was to investigate some central elements in teenagers’ life interpretation so as to discuss the results in terms of social circumstances in Iceland and of school religious education. 2. Nybyggarbarn : Barnuppfostran bland nybyggare i Frostvikens, Vilhelmina och Tärna socknar 1850-1920
Sammanfattning : The investigation concerns childrearing among settlers in the northern part of Sweden between 1850-1920. What were the attitudes of the adults towards children and what ideals were there for children's behaviour? By investigating childrearing I also intended to find which general values and norms there were in the settlers' society. LÄS MER
3. Se – än lever jag! : Livsåskådning och lärande i livets slutskede
Sammanfattning : The purpose of the study has been, by adopting a view of life and a learning perspective, to reach an understanding of the way in which cancer patients in a palliative care context understand and cope with their existential life situation. I asked the following questions: 1) How does their personal view of life influence the patients’ understanding and coping with the illness and existential life situation? 2) What existential questions are central to the patients? 3) What is personal learning all about? 4) What prerequisites are important for fostering the patients’ personal learning? Interviews focusing on narratives were conducted with ten patients who have an incurable cancer disease. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The object of this study, taken from an inter-disciplinary standpoint, is to examine how dietary habits of a population of industrial workers in an agrarian environment have changed during the last hundred years, from a qualitative rather than a quantitative point of view.
