    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; tjänster; turismutveckling; småföretagande; etnografi; diskursteori; småskaligt fiske; turismföretagande; lokal kunskap; kust; värdskap; servicearbete; yrkesroll; kulturanalys; hållbart fiske; innovation; autenticitet; entreprenörskap; Inshore commerical fisheries; small business enterprising; fishers; sustainable fisheries; small-scale fisheries; tourism enterprising; coast; entrepreneurship; governance; local knowledge; hosting; hospitality; diversification; service production; service work; work role; culture analysis; ethnography; discourse theory; positioning; positions; authenitciy; metaphors;

    Sammanfattning : In this dissertation inshore commercial fisheries are being studied from a cultural analytical perspective with a focus on service production and hospitality. The dissertation title, ”Inshore commercial fisheries in change. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Carbon Balance Implications of Forest Biomass Production Potential

    Författare :Bishnu Chandra Poudel; Inga Carlman; Johan Bergh; Thomas Lundmark; Roger Sathre; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; forest management; silviculture; clear-cut forestry; continuous-cover forestry; substitution; total carbon; climate benefit; climate change; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Forests in boreal and temperate forest-ecosystems have importance for carbonbalance since they sequester large amount of atmospheric carbon by uptake ofcarbon-dioxide during photosynthesis, and transfer and store carbon in the forestecosystem. Forest material can be used for bio-fuel purposes and substitute fossilfuels, and supply wood products, which can replace carbon-and-energy-intensivematerials. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Extraction of logging residues for bioenergy : effects of operational methods on fuel quality and biomass losses in the forest

    Författare :Bengt Nilsson; Johan Bergh; Gudmund Vollbrecht; Rolf Björheden; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Forest fuel; Storage; Fraction composition; Needles; Defoliation; Moisture content; Nutrients; Nitrogen; Norway spruce; Picea abies; Skogsbränsle; Lagring; Fraktionsfördelning; Barr; Avbarrning; Fukthalt; Näringsämnen; Kväve; Gran; Picea abies; Forestry and Wood Technology; Skog och träteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Wood products play a key role in the transformation to a more sustainable society based on renewable bio-based resources, together with the positive effects on climate mitigation by replacing fossil fuels. However, to increase the use of forest fuel in practice it is important to understand the effects of handling and storage on its quality and removal of nutrients from the forest. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Toward a more sustainable food system using public procurement

    Författare :Elvira Molin; Anna Björklund; Skoglund Wilhelm; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; procurement; food; sustainability; criteria; Environmental Strategic Analysis; Miljöstrategisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : Around 30 % of today's anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions originate from the food sector. Food production is the lead cause of deforestation, biodiversity loss, depletion of fish stocks, and scarcity of fresh water. LÄS MER

  5. 5. The dynamics in harvested populations

    Författare :Anders Wikström; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fluctuations; temporal; state-space; Harvest; cod; vendace; elasticity; stage-structured; stochastic; growth-rate; Baltic Sea; Bothnian Bay;

    Sammanfattning : We are interested in the effect of harvesting on population fluctuations and for that purpose we develop and analyze an age-structured model where recruitment is a stochastic process and the adult segment of the population is harvested. When a constant annual harvest is taken the coefficient of variation of the adult population increases for most parameter values due to the age truncation effect, i. LÄS MER
