In previous research, this decay has been explained by pointing to the emergence of the state in this period, through processes such as bureaucratization, nationalization, and confessionalization, and, later, secularization. 13. The materiality of media discourse : on capitalism and journalistic modes of writing
Sammanfattning : The purpose of the study is to analyse the relationship between the capitalist hegemonic order and the mass media, with the latter restricted to two elite newspapers (Swedish DN and Slovenian Delo) and the selection of news materials from three bodies of international media coverage: NATO’s military intervention in former Yugoslavia, 1999, the political demonstrations against the IMF and the World Bank in Prague, 2000, and 9/11, 2001. 14. On Real-Time Optimization using Extremum Seeking Control and Economic Model Predictive Control : With Applications to Bioreactors and Paper Machines
Sammanfattning : Process optimization is used to improve the utility and the economic performance of industrial processes, and is as such central in most automation strategies. In this thesis, two feedback-based methods for online process optimization are considered: Extremum seeking control (ESC), a classic model-free method used for steady-state optimization which dates back to the early 1900's, and economic model predictive control (EMPC), a more recent method which utilizes a model to dynamically optimize the closed-loop process economics in real time. Sammanfattning : DNA transcription involves the association of multiple proteins with DNA to convert the genetic information into messenger-RNA transcripts, which later will be translated into proteins.
