  1. 1. Cancer and Inflammation Role of Macrophages and Monocytes

    Detta är en avhandling från Karlstad : Karlstads universitet

    Författare :Alexander Hedbrant; Karlstads universitet.; [2015]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; M1 macrophages; M2 macrophages; colon cancer; lung cancer; prostaglandin E2; Biomedical Sciences; Biomedicinsk vetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Macrophages are cells of the innate immune system that can be found in large quantities in cancer tumors and affect cancer progression by regulating growth and invasiveness of cancer cells. There are two main phenotypes of macrophages denoted M1 and M2. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cancer Immunotherapy A Preclinical Study of Urinary Bladder Cancer

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Christina Ninalga; Uppsala universitet.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :Medicine; immunotherapy; bladder carcinoma; cancer; CpG ODNs; Adenoviral vector; CD40L; TRANCE; Lymphotactin; IL2; IL15; Medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Bacillus Calmette Guérin (BCG), or attenuated Mycobacterium bovis, is the gold standard of immunotherapy in the clinic to treat superficial bladder cancer. However, setbacks remain due to a high recurrence rate, side effects, and BCG-refractory disease. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Preclinical imaging of prostate cancer using radiolabeled antibodies

    Detta är en avhandling från Division of Urological Cancers

    Författare :Susan Evans Axelsson; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; [2013]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Target-specific molecular imaging with radiolabeled antibodies has experienced a rapid growth over the past 20 years, and is now an essential tool to provide information on disease presence and extent. Despite all efforts to detect and control prostate cancer at an early stage, a number of men are still progressing to develop incurable metastatic disease. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Adenovirus for Cancer Therapy With a Focus on its Surface Modification

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Sammanfattning : Adenovirus serotype 5 (Ad5) is widely used as an oncolytic agent for cancer therapy. However, its infectivity is highly dependent on the expression level of coxsackievirus-adenovirus receptor (CAR) on the surface of tumor cells. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Molecular heterogeneity of prostate cancer bone metastasis

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå universitet

    Författare :Erik Bovinder Ylitalo; Umeå universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate cancer; CRPC; castration-resistant; androgen receptor; splice variant; abiraterone; cabazitaxel; ABCB1; cholesterol; Mdr1; P-gp; bone metastasis; immune response; metabolism; osteoblast; osteoclast; BMP; methylation;

    Sammanfattning : Castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) develops after androgen deprivation therapy of advanced PC, often with metastatic growth in bone. Patients with metastatic CRPC have very poor prognosis. Growth of CRPC, in most but not all patients, seems to involve androgen receptor (AR) activity, despite castrate levels of serum testosterone.
