  1. 6. Design for all Senses. Accessible Spaces for Visually Impaired Citizens

    Författare :Marta Dischinger; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; design methods; spatial perception; urban accessibility; visual impairments; universal design;

    Sammanfattning : The central purpose of this study is to contribute to our knowledge of designing in a way that can be supported by the knowledge of the situation, and by the experience and expectations of those who are affected by design. In this case it means to enable us to find methods that can support the development of design actions to improve the accessibility of public open urban places for visually impaired persons, enhancing their perception and understanding of space, increasing their possibilities of orientating and taking independent decisions, and enabling them participate in the city life. 2. 7. Infants in Control : Prospective Motor Control and Executive Functions in Action Development

    Författare :Janna Gottwald; Gustaf Gredebäck; Claes von Hofsten; Daniela Corbetta; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :infant development; action development; prospective motor control; executive functions; action planning; motor development; motion tracking; embodied cognition; developmental psychology; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis assesses the link between action and cognition early in development. Thus the notion of an embodied cognition is investigated by tying together two levels of action control in the context of reaching in infancy: prospective motor control and executive functions. 3. 8. Selective wavelength pupillometry to evaluate outer and inner retinal photoreception

    Författare :Aki Kawasaki; Fatima Pedrosa Domellöf; Bertil Lindblom; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pupil; pupil light reflex; melanopsin; photoreceptor; intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cell; oftalmiatrik; Ophtalmology;

    Sammanfattning : PurposeIntrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs) express a unique photopigment called melanopsin. Capable of direct phototransduction, the ipRGCs are also influenced by rods and cones via synaptic inputs. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Non-Invasive Monitoring of Architectural Heritage

    Författare :Jenny Hällström; Bebyggelsevård; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; remote sensing; lidar; laser-induced fluorescence; documentation; hyperspectral; non invasive; non destructive; sustainable maintenance; conservation planning; monitoring; Coliseum; architectural conservation; restoration; Övedskloster; deterioration; Lateran Baptistery; stone; brick; thematic mapping; in situ; imaging; biodeteriogens;

    Sammanfattning : The on-site documentation and examination of architectural heritage has presented challenges for traditional analysis methods in the form of, among other things, large complex structures, sites and environmental conditions. In recent years there has been growing interest in assessing progressing deterioration processes and material analysis, with an emphasis on sustainable conservation and maintenance planning. LÄS MER
