1. Health literacy among newly arrived refugees in Sweden and implications for health and healthcare
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to examine the distribution of health literacy (HL) levels in newly arrived Arabic-, Dari-, or Somali-speaking refugees in Sweden. Further aims were to investigate sociodemographic characteristics associated with inadequate HL in this group, and to investigate whether HL levels are associated with experiences of the health examination for asylum seekers (HEA), health seeking behaviour and health. Individuals with knee pain have a higher risk of developingchronic widespread pain and knee osteoarthritis, compared to the general population, and the prevalence of chronic pain is estimated to rise. 5. Health systems bottlenecks and evidence-based district health planning : Experiences from the district health system in Uganda
Sammanfattning : In low-income countries where maternal and child mortality remains high, there is limited use of context-specific evidence for decision making and prioritization of interventions in the planning process at the sub-national level, such as the district level. Knowledge on the utility of tools and interventions to promote use of district-specific evidence in the planning process is limited, yet it could contribute to the prioritization of high-impact interventions for women and children.
