    Sammanfattning : B cell development is a highly organized process, which commences in the fetal liver during embryogenesis and in the bone marrow (BM) after birth. Surface IgM+ immature B cells emigrate from the BM via the blood stream to the spleen and finally differentiate into conventional mature follicular B (FoB) cells and marginal zone (MZ) B cells.     Sammanfattning : Vγ9Vδ2 T cell is the dominant circulating γδ T cell subset in humans, can expand massively upon malaria infection and are cytotoxic to cancer cells.     Sammanfattning : In the present thesis, an attempt was made to elucidate the role of some of the glucose-induced intracellular metabolic effector signals in insulin secretion and to develop new applications that will enable further investigations of oscillatory signalling and secretion from pancreatic ß-cells.
