  1. 1. Defining the role of CD47 and SIRPα in murine B cell homeostasis

    Författare :Shrikant S Kolan; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Mikael Karlsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cells; CD47; SIRPα; Follicular B cell; Marginal zone macrophages; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : B cell development is a highly organized process, which commences in the fetal liver during embryogenesis and in the bone marrow (BM) after birth. Surface IgM+ immature B cells emigrate from the BM via the blood stream to the spleen and finally differentiate into conventional mature follicular B (FoB) cells and marginal zone (MZ) B cells. 2. 2. CD47–SIRPα : an interaction of importance for bone cell differentiation

    Författare :Cecilia Koskinen; Pernilla Lundberg; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Riku Kiviranta; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; CD47; SIRPalpha; osteoblast; osteoclast; SHP-2; Akt2; cell research; cellforskning;

    Sammanfattning : Bone tissue is continuously remodeled by bone-forming osteoblasts and bone-resorbing osteoclasts, in processes tightly regulated by hormones, cytokines and growth factors. CD47, a ubiquitously expressed protein, and one of its ligands, signal-regulatory protein alpha (SIRPα), are two cell-surface proteins belonging to the immunoglobulin (Ig)-superfamily. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Crosstalk between colorectal cancer cells and tumour-associated macrophages

    Författare :Yuan Zhang; Malmö Cellpatologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; CD47; tumour-associated macrophage; matrix metalloproteinase; cell migration; colon cancer;

    Sammanfattning : Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer and the fourth leading cause of death from cancer worldwide. People suffering from inflammatory bowel disease, such as Crohns’ disease and ulcerative colitis, are at an increased risk of developing CRC. The development of CRC is highly influenced by the tumour microenvironment. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Mechanisms involved in macrophage phagocytosis of apoptotic cells

    Författare :Anna Nilsson; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Karl-Eric Magnusson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; macrophages; dendritic cells; phagocytosis; apoptotic cells; senescent erythrocytes; CD47; SIRPalpha; LRP1; calreticulin; Immunology; Immunologi; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Efficient removal of apoptotic cells is critical for development, tissue remodelling, maintenance of homeostasis, and response to injury. Phagocytosis of apoptotic cells is mediated by many phagocytic receptors, soluble bridging molecules, and pro-phagocytic ligands on the surface of apoptotic cells. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Immunologic Markers in the Tumor Microenvironment of Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma

    Författare :Alex R. Gholiha; Gunilla Enblad; Rose-Marie Amini; Peter Hollander; Gustaf Hedström; Arjan Diepstra; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Tumor microenvironment; immunohistochemistry; immune checkpoints; Plasma cells; IL-6 cytokine; Proteomics; CD47.;

    Sammanfattning : In classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL), cytokine regulation and cellular composition of the tumor microenvironment (TME) is crucial for tumor cell survival. In paper I, we examined the presence of CD138+ plasma cells and IgG4+ plasma cells in diagnostic cHL biopsies with immunohistochemistry (IHC). LÄS MER
