  1. 1. Justice needs a blindfold : Effects of defendants’ gender and attractiveness on judicial evaluation

    Författare :Angela S. Ahola; Sven Å. Christianson; Leslie Zebrowitz; Stockholms universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Gender and appearance affect our judgments regarding an individual’s personality, profession, and morality, and create a reference frame within which to act toward that person. The main question of the present thesis is whether these kinds of stereotypical conceptions have implications for the judicial process: how professionals within the judicial process evaluate and judge a defendant, and how and what eyewitnesses remember. Sammanfattning : An initial aim of this thesis was to determine whether training of a specific executive function (updating) produces improvements in performance on trained and transfer tasks, and whether the effects are maintained over time. Neural systems underlying training and transfer effects were also investigated and one question considered is whether transfer depends on general or specific neural overlap between training and transfer tasks. 4. 4. Learning With Selective Feedback : Effects on Performance and Coding of Unknown Outcomes

    Författare :Ebba Elwin; Peter Juslin; Robin Hogarth; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Cognitive science; Kognitionsforskning; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : In experiential learning, one important source of information is the feedback that people receive on the outcomes of their decisions. Typically, however, feedback is systematically absent for many decisions and the actual experience of people may therefore be highly selective. LÄS MER

The aim is to provide a transdisciplinary explanatory model of the transaction between text and reader during the reading process resulting in the reader experiencing a mental, virtual world. LÄS MER
