16. Proteome Profiling of Strawberry and Characterization of a Bet v 1-Homologous Allergen
Sammanfattning : Strawberry (Fragaria ananassa) is an economically important crop, and recognised as an important source of antioxidants and bioactive compounds with health promoting effects. Yet increased incidence of allergy puts a limit to the choice of food for an increasing percentage of the population. LÄS MER
17. Speeding up the Atmosphere : Experimental oxidation studies of ambient and laboratory aerosols using a flow reactor
Sammanfattning : Apart from gases, the air we breath consist of tiny, so called, aerosol particles. A cubic metre of air in a relatively clean environment can consist of several billion aerosol particles. The impact of these particles on human health and on climate is significant. LÄS MER
18. Human IgE - What We Can Learn from Repertoire Studies and How We Can Use Them as Tools
Sammanfattning : Antibodies of the IgE isotype play a key role as the allergen recognizer in allergic disease, which today affects as much as a third of the population in the industrialized parts of the world. Despite this crucial role of IgE, our knowledge of IgE repertoires and how we can utilize the information hidden in monoclonal IgE to improve the quality of life of allergic patients, is limited. 20. Specifity and genetic control of B cell reactivity in experimental arthritis
Sammanfattning : Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) and pristane-induced arthritis (PIA) are animal models for human rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and can be induced in susceptible mouse and rat strains. CIA is induced by immunization of type II collagen (CII), a cartilage specific protein together with Freund’s adjuvant. LÄS MER
