    Sammanfattning : Avhandlingens syfte är att undersöka politiska implikationer av idén om litteraturundervisning som demokrati- och värdegrundsarbete i förhållande till det ideal om mätbar kunskap som präglar samtidens utbildningspolicydiskurser. Det som står i fokus är 2011 års gymnasiereform, som tolkas mot bakgrund av en genomgripande förändring av den globala och europeiska utbildningspolicydiskursen från och med millennieskiftet. The aim is to examine the conditions under which literature discussions may help students to develop their reception of a commonly read text, and to examine whether, and how, the discussions may provide the students with opportunities to learn more about, or to develop specific attitudes or perspectives towards, literary reading in general.
