Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to clarify how the merchant networks involved in the trade across the Baltic Sea interplayed with and contributed to create the economic culture of the Baltic Sea region. This is achieved by examining the economic, social, spatial and political aspects of the trade networks in relation to the social organisation of the early modern towns of Stockholm, Lübeck, Malmö and Reval (Tallinn) in the 16th century. 3. Marschen mot makten : Västra arméns revolt och väg till Stockholm 1809
Sammanfattning : In March 1809, when Sweden was yet again at war, part of its Western Army staged a revolt against Gustav IV Adolf that spelled the end of royal absolutism. The thesis shows how, in a turbulent period in European history marked by revolution and the Napoleonic wars, an army of several thousand men could successfully revolt and march from their positions in the county of Värmland clean across their own country to Stockholm, where they instigated a change of regime. Sammanfattning : What was the expertise of a naval officer during the 16th century? How did the naval officers’ expand, and what was the power relations like? These questions asked initially in the dissertation, try to capture the essence of the actual purpose, namely to investigate the development, power relations and the competence of a naval officer in the Swedish Navy during the 16th century (1522-1595).There was a correlated relationship between the military strategic choice of the operational area, naval tactical choices vessel types for customized naval warfare and the need for naval officers.
