2. Nonlinear Optical Properties of Fullerenes, Oligomers, and Solutions
Sammanfattning : This work presents development and applications of modern tools in ab initio quantum chemistry for obtaining linear and nonlinear response properties of molecules in the gas phase and in solution. The external perturbing fields are primarily electric in nature with frequencies in the optical region. LÄS MER
3. Marschen mot makten : Västra arméns revolt och väg till Stockholm 1809
Sammanfattning : In March 1809, when Sweden was yet again at war, part of its Western Army staged a revolt against Gustav IV Adolf that spelled the end of royal absolutism. The thesis shows how, in a turbulent period in European history marked by revolution and the Napoleonic wars, an army of several thousand men could successfully revolt and march from their positions in the county of Värmland clean across their own country to Stockholm, where they instigated a change of regime. 4. Extending the capabilities of polarizable embedding through damped linear response theory
Sammanfattning : One of the greater challenges of modern quantum chemistry is to meet the growing demands of a detailed description of macro molecules, such as proteins and RNA/DNA. The size of such systems make it an almost impossible task to, from first principle calculations, obtain any detailed information regarding electronic structure. LÄS MER
5. Theoretical calculations of heavy atom effects in magnetic resonance spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents quantum chemical calculations, applications of the response function formalism recently implemented within the framework of density functional theory (DFT) by our research group. The purpose of the calculations is to assess the performance of this perturbative approach to determining heavy atom effects on magnetic resonance parameters. LÄS MER
