  1. 1. Flow, expansion and processing behaviours of gas-containing filled polyethylene

    Författare :Nabil Khoshaba; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mechanical properties; flow rate; critical pressure; injection moulding; expansion kinetics; fillers; rheological properties; foaming; composite materials; partial pressure; capillary viscometry; Blowing agent;

    Sammanfattning : The utilization of fillers in polymeric materials has exhibited a substantial growth during the last decades. Chalk (calcium carbonate) and glass fibres are two common examples of such fillers. These fillers/reinforcing elements are used in order to reduce the cost of material and change its physical (mechanical) properties. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Polyelectrolyte adsorption on oppositely charged surfaces - Conformation and adsorption kinetics

    Författare :Lars-Erik Enarsson; Lars Wågberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polyelectrolyte adsorption; adsorption kinetics; adsorption isotherms; conformation; bridging; stagnation point adsorption reflectometry; quartz crystal microgravimetry; polyelectrolyte titration; cationic polyacrylamide; cationic dextran; colloidal silica; silica surfaces; pulp; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Denna avhandling presenterar experimentella studier av polyelektrolytadsorption på motsatt laddade ytor, där substrat av både kiseloxid och blekt barrsulfatmassa har använts. Ett huvudsakligt syfte med denna forskning var att karaktärisera konformationen hos adsorberade skikt av katjonisk polyakrylamid (CPAM) i jämförelse med katjonisk dextran (Cdextran) och relatera denna information till inbindningskapaciteten av kolloidal kiselsyra. 3. 3. Reaching Kinetic Selectivities : In Pursuing Novel Ternary Oxide Coatings, and Beyond

    Författare :Sebastian Öhman; Mats Boman; Tobias Törndahl; Maarit Karppinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CVD; coatings; kinetics; crystallization; nucleation; diffusionless; Al2TiO5; oxides; Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot oorganisk kemi; Kemi med inriktning mot materialkemi; Chemistry with specialization in Materials Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Kinetically driven synthesis pathways have the potential to allow new ways to develop materials and phases with much-improved properties. This particularly concerns metastable and multicomponent phases that require a selective kinetic targeting during the synthesis to circumvent the formation of thermodynamically stable products. 4. 4. Volume kinetics of glucose solutions given by intravenous infusion

    Författare :Fredrik Sjöstrand; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Volume kinetics; osmosis; dehydration; rehydration; glucose solutions; glucose; hypovolemia; hypoglycemia; fluids; intravenous fluid therapy; fluid shifts; plasma volume; dilution; plasma dilution; intracellular hydration; central volume.;

    Sammanfattning : Fluid therapy is often cumbersome to plan since the distribution and the elimination of the administered solution are difficult to analyze in the clinical setting. The knowledge of the adequate rate and dose for each individual patient and under various physiological conditions would be very attractive to obtain in order to avoid fluid overload and hyperglycemia. 5. 5. Study and Modeling of the Reduction of Sulfur Dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides and Hydrogen Chloride by Dry Injection Technologies

    Författare :Wuyin Wang; Avdelningen för kemiteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; reaction kinetics; pore particle size; HCl; NOx; desulfurization; Ca-based sorbent; flue gas; Chemical technology and engineering; Kemiteknik och kemisk teknologi;

    Sammanfattning : The potential and mechanism to reduce acid gases, such as SO2, NOx and HCl by dry Ca-based sorbents have been studied to improve the efficiencies of the process and sorbent utilization. Several natural limestones were tested for SO2 removal. Calcium conversion as high as 45% was achieved within 0.3 s at 1000°C, 1000 ppm SO2 and Ca/S=1. LÄS MER
