  1. 1. Flow Measuring Techniques in Steady and Pulsating Compressible Flows

    Författare :Fredrik Laurantzon; Henrik Alfredsson; Björn Lindgren; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Flow measuring; compressible flow; steady flow; pulsating flow; hot-wire anemometry; cold-wire anemometry; Engineering mechanics; Teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with flow measuring techniques applied on steady and pulsatingflows. Specifically, it is focused on gas flows where density changes canbe significant, i.e. compressible flows. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Flow measurements related to gas exchange applications

    Författare :Fredrik Laurantzon; Henrik Alfredsson; Venkatesa Vasanta Ram; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flow meters; vortex flow meters; compressible flow; pulsating flow; hot-wire anemometry; cold-wire anemometry; time resolved measurements; wavelet analysis;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with flow measuring techniques applied to steady and pulsating gas flows relevant to gas exchange systems for internal combustion engines. Gas flows in such environments are complex, i.e. they are inhomogeneous, three-dimensional, unsteady, non-isothermal and exhibit significant density changes. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Simulations are powerful and important tools for gaining insight into powder processes. Ultimately, simulations have the potential to replace experiments. Thus, accurate models and insight into the essential factors for descriptions of powder behaviour are required. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Investigations of Flow Patterns in Ventilated Rooms Using Particle Image Velocimetry : Applications in a Scaled Room with Rapidly Varying Inflow and over a Wall-Mounted Radiator

    Författare :Amir Sattari; Ivo Martinac; Mats Sandberg; Dirk Müller; KTH; []

    Sammanfattning : This thesis introduces and describes a new experimental setup for examining the effects of pulsating inflow to a ventilated enclosure. The study aimed to test the hypothesis that a pulsating inflow has potential to improve ventilation quality by reducing the stagnation zones through enhanced mixing. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fibre flow mechanisms

    Författare :Roger Bergström; Ulf Björkman; Bo Norman; Mark Martinez; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fibre flow; floc; shear; compression; fibre network; stress chain; Cellulose and paper engineering; Cellulosa- och pappersteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The flow behaviour, and primarily the floc-floc interaction, of pulp paper suspensions have been studied visually. Analogy models based on these observations have been developed as well as the identification of important parameters of floc break-up in low shear rate flow fields. LÄS MER
