  1. 6. Single limb exercises in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease : feasibility, methodology, effects and evidence

    Författare :Andre Nyberg; Karin Wadell; Britta Lindström; Monika Fagevik Olsén; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; elastic resistance; exercise capacity; health-related quality of life; randomized controlled design; single limb exercises; systematic review; study protocol;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. COPD is a slowly progressive, inflammatory disease in the airways and lungs, caused mainly by smoking. The inflammation leads to a narrowing of the small airways (airway obstruction) and a destruction of tissue in the lungs. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Designing Interactive Value Development: Perspectives and Strategies for High Precision Marketing

    Författare :Patrick L Sweet; Företagsekonomiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; economic systems; economic theory; econometrics; Economics; business logics; internet marketing; offering; energy services; marketing communication; decision style; design; marketing; value; value strategy; economic policy; Nationalekonomi; ekonometri; ekonomisk teori; ekonomiska system; ekonomisk politik; Management of enterprises; Företagsledning; management;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation addresses the design of value productive episodes at the customer/firm boundary. Its purpose is: To provide perspective and help articulate strategies for increasing precision of the design of interactive marketing and value productive efforts at firm/customer boundaries. 3. 8. Improving disaster response evaluations : Supporting advances in disaster risk management through the enhancement of response evaluation usefulness

    Författare :Ralf Josef Johanna Beerens; Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; crisis; disaster; emergency; disaster risk management DRM ; preparedness; exercise; simulation; response; performance; evaluation; usefullness; design; The Netherlands;

    Sammanfattning : Future disasters or crises are difficult to predict and therefore hard to prepare for. However, while a specific event might not have happened, it can be simulated in an exercise. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Learning Chemistry at the University level : Student attitudes, motivation, and design of the learning environment

    Författare :C. Anders R. Berg; Johan Lithner; Lisbeth Lundahl; Helge Strömdahl; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :laboratory work; open experiments; attitude; university level; motivation; cognitive load; laboratory instruction styles; attitude change; design of learning situation; student questions.;

    Sammanfattning : The main purpose of the research this thesis is based upon was to study students’ attitudes towards learning chemistry at university level and their motivation from three perspectives. How can students’ attitudes towards learning chemistry be assessed? How can these attitudes be changed? How are learning situations experienced by students with different attitude positions? An attitude questionnaire, assessing views of knowledge, learning assessments, laboratory activities, and perceived roles of instructors and student, was used to estimate students’ attitude positions. 5. 10. Analog Circuit Topology Development: Practice methods for technology and teaching based on comprehensible transistor models

    Författare :Roger Malmberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; episteme; analog design; circuit synthesis; field-effect transistor; teaching method; phronesis; techne; bipolar transistor; transistor model;

    Sammanfattning : To obtain adequate knowledge for design of robust analog circuits in industry, circuit engineers gain main knowledge from own practice experience, because theory taught by universities rarely states validity limits and result spreads. Therefore, when going from university to industry, the engineers find this theory nontrustworthy and relinquish it. LÄS MER
