    Författare :Lena Kollén; Claes Möller; Margareta Möller; Monika Fagevik Olsén; Mikael Karlberg; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; benign paroxysmal positional vertigo; static balance; dynamic balance; unilateral vestibular loss; dizziness; walking; vestibular rehabilitation; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN; Caring sciences; Vårdvetenskap; Vårdvetenskap; Nursing Science;

    Sammanfattning : Dizziness and balance problems are common symptoms at all ages. The aims were; to evaluate rehabilitation, static, dynamic balance and recovery in acute unilateral vestibular loss (AUVL), to evaluate the treatment of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) with assessment of static and dynamic balance and to evaluate the prevalence of dizziness and BPPV in a population of 75-year-olds. 2. 2. Single limb exercises in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease : feasibility, methodology, effects and evidence

    Författare :Andre Nyberg; Karin Wadell; Britta Lindström; Monika Fagevik Olsén; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; elastic resistance; exercise capacity; health-related quality of life; randomized controlled design; single limb exercises; systematic review; study protocol;

    Sammanfattning : Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. COPD is a slowly progressive, inflammatory disease in the airways and lungs, caused mainly by smoking. The inflammation leads to a narrowing of the small airways (airway obstruction) and a destruction of tissue in the lungs. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Resistance breathing with PEP and CPAP : effects on respiratory parameters

    Författare :Maria Sehlin; Ola Winsö; Karin Wadell; Fredrik Öhberg; Monika Fagevik Olsèn; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Chest physiotherapy; breathing exercises; PEP; CPAP; airway pressure; airflow; threshold resistor; flow resistor; inspiratory capacity; Borg CR10;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Positive expiratory pressure (PEP) and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) are two forms of resistance breathing used in spontaneously breathing patients. With a threshold resistor or a flow resistor, both PEP and CPAP provide a positive (elevated) pressure level during the expiratory phase. LÄS MER
