   Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to investigate and describe how, through development work in the form of an in-service training programme, preschool teachers were able to change their approach to initiatives and active participation on the part of the children, with the emphasis on a change from a negative to an affirmative approach.    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to investigate and analyze the categorization of children’s “problems” in comprehensive schools and the context in which the categorization is performed and used. A central question is: How are the children’s “problems” defined and formulated in the annual reports of the school health services for the school years 1944/45 to 1988/89? “Problems” in this context are illnesses, functional disabilities and other characteristics associated with what is perceived as the physical, psychical and social ill-health of a child.    Sammanfattning : Denna studie tar utgångspunkt i frågan varför många döva barn har svårt att lära sig matematik. Studiens syfte är att belysa döva barns begreppsbildning i ämnet matematik genom att beskriva hur några döva barn uttrycker sig och agerar på väg mot förståelse av två centrala matematiska begrepp, nämligen multiplikation med heltal och längd.
