Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to investigate and analyze the categorization of children’s “problems” in comprehensive schools and the context in which the categorization is performed and used. A central question is: How are the children’s “problems” defined and formulated in the annual reports of the school health services for the school years 1944/45 to 1988/89? “Problems” in this context are illnesses, functional disabilities and other characteristics associated with what is perceived as the physical, psychical and social ill-health of a child. Sammanfattning : BAKGRUND Bakgrunden till denna avhandling är att erbjuda ett alternativt sätt att förstå habiliteringspraktik. Den teoretiska ramen i avhandlingen är Pierre Bourdieus fältteori, vilket innebär ett antagande att det sociala livet bygger på symboliska och kulturella trossystem med hithörande doxor, med egna slags symboliska ekonomier och dominansförhållanden. Sammanfattning : The dissertation examines the formation of specific groups, their interests and positions related to children with disabilities and their education and care in Sweden developed during 1960-1980. The theoretical framework is based on Pierre Bourdieu’s sociological theory of social space, which assumes that social life is based on symbolic and cultural systems of beliefs with respectively specific doxas and symbolic economies. 4. Fatherhood Images and Ideals : Transforming, Circulating, and Responding to the Swedish Dads Photo Exhibition
Sammanfattning : Between 2016 and 2019, the Swedish state – via the Swedish Institute and Swedish embassies – circulated the ‘Swedish Dads’ photo exhibition to 54 countries. The exhibition was based on a photobook by the same name and featured photographs of Swedish fathers on parental leave with their children. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of three self-contained essays that consider indirect effects of unemployment and low earnings on crime and children’s school performance. The first essay, Crime, unemployment and labor market programs in turbulent times (joint with Jonas Agell), investigates the effect of unemployment and participation in labor market programs, in general and among youth, on Swedish crime rates using a new panel data set for Swedish municipalities for the period 1996-2000.
