21. Numerical Simulations of Turbulent Flows at Widely Different Mach Numbers
Sammanfattning : The present thesis mainly focuses on the numerical simulation of the turbulent flow field and acoustics developed in different industrial applications. The study covers a large range of Mach numbers, starting from incompressible regimes and ending with a fully compressible flow. LÄS MER
22. Plato's Republic on Democracy : Freedom, Fear and Tyrants Everywhere
Sammanfattning : This thesis poses the question ‘What is the critique of democracy in Plato’s Republic?’ It is not the first to do so. But contrary to standard readings, this thesis does not assume neither epistemological nor elitist explanations. Rather, it sees the Kallipolis, ‘the beautiful city in words’ as predicated on a particular anthropology. LÄS MER
23. Modeling and simulation of rotary bell spray atomizers in automotive paint shops
Sammanfattning : The paint and surface treatment processes in automotive paint shops are characterized by multiphase and free surface flows, multiphysics interactions, multiscale phenomena, and large moving geometries. The current version of the software for simulation of spray painting developed at the Fraunhofer-Chalmers Centre relies on measurements of droplet size distributions and velocity profiles below the applicator that can be used as input to the simulations. 24. Experimental Studies of Separated Flow and Heat Transfer in a Ribbed Channel
Sammanfattning : The main concern of this thesis is to experimentally investigate the turbulent flow and heat transfer in a ribbed channel. Such flows are encountered in many engineering applications, e.g., gas turbine cooling. LÄS MER
25. Electrocatalytic properties of Ni hydroxides with Zn or Co in the Ni matrix
Sammanfattning : The majority of the work in this thesis has been made with the improvement of the systems for electrochemical co-generation of chemicals and electricity in mind. This is an appealing but challenging way of producing chemicals with energy as a bi-product, and is commonly referred to as “green chemistry”. LÄS MER
