    Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises five studies investigating psychological distress in patients with myocardial infarction (MI) and Takotsubo syndrome (TS), with a focus on using e-health methods for data collection and delivery of psychological interventions.  The aim of study 1 was to explore the long-term (12 month) effect of an internet-delivered intervention for MI patients experiencing self-reported symptoms of anxiety or depression compared to a control group without access to the treatment intervention. Sammanfattning : The effect of fish consumption on the risk of cardiovascular disease has been extensively studied. Omega-3 fatty acids present in fish, namely eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), have been found to have beneficial effects through several mechanisms. In addition, selenium, an antioxidant, may be protective. LÄS MER

  4. 39. Identification of pathophysiological and prognostic biomarkers in different types of myocardial infarction

    Författare :Marcus Hjort; Bertil Lindahl; Kai M. Eggers; Helge Rørvik Røsjø; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The pathophysiological mechanisms of myocardial infarction (MI) with non-obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) are largely unknown. Analogous, differences in pathobiology between ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and non-ST-elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) are incompletely understood. LÄS MER

  5. 40. Symptoms and care seeking behaviour during myocardial infarction in patients with diabetes

    Författare :Karin Hellström Ängerud; Christine Brulin; Mats Eliasson; Ulf Näslund; Anna Strömberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; myocardial infarction; diabetes mellitus; symptoms; symptom interpretation; pre-hospital delay; patient delay; decision making; care seeking behaviour; omvårdnadsforskning med medicinsk inriktning; Caring Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Background: In Myocardial infarction (MI) it is well established that timely diagnosis and treatment may reduce mortality and improve the prognosis. Therefore it is important that patients with MI seek medical care as soon as possible. Patients with diabetes have a higher risk for MI and worse prognosis compared to patients without diabetes.
