  1. 1. Acute myocardial infarction. Short-term triggers, treatment optimisation and risk stratification

    Författare :Moman Mohammad; Kardiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cardiology; Myocardial Infarction; Troponin; Weather; short-term triggers; risk stratification;

  2. 2. Psychophysiological and Performance Aspects on Motion Sickness

    Författare :Joakim Dahlman; Torbjörn Falkmer; Torbjörn Ledin; John Golding; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Motion sickness is not an illness, but rather a natural autonomic response to an unfamiliar or specific stimulus. The bodily responses to motion sickness are highly individual and contextually dependent, making them difficult to predict. The initial autonomic responses are similar to the ones demonstrated when under stress. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Stress-induced cardiomyopathy - clinical and experimental studies

    Författare :Jonatan Oras; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Stress-induced cardiomyopathy; Subarachnoid hemorrhage; tako-tsubo; isoflurane; outcome; cerebral infarction; hsTnT; NTproBNP; proteomics; bioinformatics;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Stress-induced cardiomyopathy (SIC) is an acute cardiac condition with akinesia in the left ventricle (LV) that can be severe. A stress-trigger, physical or emotional, is usually identified preceding onset of symptoms and catecholamine overstimulation is involved in the pathogenesis of SIC. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Innate immune airway responses after exposure to ultrafine and ambient particles : in vivo and in vitro models

    Författare :Anna Steneholm; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Inhalation of ultrafine and ambient particles in the air triggers a response in the innate immune system of the airways. This thesis explores measures to reduce exposure to organic dust, to dampen the adverse immune effects of chronic organic swine dust exposure and develop a refined in vitro bronchial mucosa model to reduce in vivo toxicity testing on humans and animals. 5. 5. Chemical exposure in the work place : mental models of workers and experts

    Författare :Anita Pettersson-Strömbäck; Bengt Järvholm; Steven Nordin; Bo Strangert; Marianne Törner; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :self-assessment of exposure; predictions; expert judgment; risk; interpretation; time series analysis; MAPE; benzene; monoterpenes; styrene; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Many workers are daily exposed to chemical risks in their work place that has to be assessed and controlled. Due to exposure variability, repeated and random measurements should be conducted for valid estimates of the average exposure. LÄS MER
