    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, I study how conditions for music-making can be developed, maintained and challenged through government support processes in the Swedish region Dalarna. The research questions focus on the ways music, policy and governance relate to each other, what kinds of musicians and ways of making music are favored in these relations, and the agency and meaning of place.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation is to examine the style of the Swedish entertainer Povel Ramel (1922-2007) as a composer and lyricist of popular songs, and to elucidate his relation to the older popular music culture, denoted "the age of melody". In the main part of the study the author analyses more than 80 works by Ramel, which he created in the 1950s and 60s. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Gustav Mahler’s comment to Sibelius in 1907 that a symphony must be like the world is one of classical music’s most cited and has functioned as a crucial springboard for interpretations of the composer’s works. However, these have mostly centred on autobiographical, programmatic, or narrative aspects, with a focus on temporally unfolding plots or generic and semiotic connotations. LÄS MER
