21. Ionic transport of α-alumina below 1000°C : an in-situ impedance spectrosocpy study
Sammanfattning : Ionic conductivity of metal oxides is critical for the function of a broad range of different components, such as electrolytes in solid oxide fuel cells and alloys designed for high temperature applications. In both cases the ionic conductivity can be studied by in situ impedance spectroscopy, which is also able to reveal information on the dielectric properties of the metal oxides, and in some cases the influence of their microstructure. 22. Telomere analysis of normal and neoplastic hematopoietic cells : studies focusing on fluorescence in situ hybridization and flow cytometry
Sammanfattning : The telomeres are specialized structures at the end of the chromosomes composed of the repeated DNA sequence (TTAGGG)n and specific proteins bound to the DNA. The telomeres protect the chromosomes from degradation and end to end fusions. LÄS MER
23. Transmission Electron Tomography and In-situ Analysis of Nanowires
Sammanfattning : As semiconducting nanowires have promising applications for materials science, nanoelectronics and photovoltaic devices, absolute control of their structure, morphology and composition is a prerequisite for their functionality. Nanowires, grown through the vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) method, exhibit a complex relationship between their liquid seed particle and what properties, such as the aforementioned ones, the wire adopts in the end. 24. Microsensors for in situ electron microscopy applications
Sammanfattning : With the ongoing miniaturisation of devices, the interest in characterising nanoscale physical properties has strongly increased. To further advance the field of nanotechnology new scientific tools are required. LÄS MER
25. English Hemspråk : Language in Interaction in English Mother Tongue Instruction in Sweden
Sammanfattning : The thesis investigates teacher-student interaction in English mother tongue instruction (MTI), offered within mainstream education to English heritage language students in Sweden. In particular, it examines the type of language work that was in focus during the lessons and the ways teacher and students engaged in the language work in situ. LÄS MER
