   Sammanfattning : This study offers the first comprehensive account of the problem of situation-dependence and facticity in Husserl's phenomenology of meaning. On the basis of a reconsideration of the central ideas of Husserl's phenomenological approach to meaning and intentionality, it presents a reconstruction and assessment of Husserl's revised conception of empirical meaning. A study of existential attitudes based on essays written in a multicultural upper secondary school for adults The aim of this study is to survey and interpret outlooks on life as expressed in 175 essays written (1999-2001) in a multicultural Swedish suburb by adult students learning Swedish, Swedish as a Foreign Language, and Philosophy. What are the recurring themes in these essays? How do they reflect the fundamental existential problems of their authors? The theoretical background rests on existential hermeneutics with Sartre (1943, 1946, 1984) as the most important philosophical source. LÄS MER

   Sammanfattning : The aim of the thesis is to study public opinion on social problems, with focus on the problems of alcohol- and drug abuse. Public opin-ion is studied through a sur-vey, distributed to a cross-sectional, ran-domised and represen-tative sample of the Swedish population, aged 18 to 69 years.    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the meta-ethical question: What properties would be required of a normative critical concept in order for it to be (a) derived from the social facticity of prevailing norms, practices and institutions in a given society and (b) still be capable of informing radical critique? This thesis takes radical critique to mean one that escapes all charges of status quo biases and thus truly transcends the immanent content of the norms, practices and institutions from which it was derived.This thesis asserts that the necessary property of such a concept is recursion.
