1. Control Design and Performance Analysis of force Reflective Teleoperators - A Passivity Based Approach
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the problem of controlling a surgical masterand slave system with force reflection is studied. The problemof stiff contacts between the slave and the environment isgiven specific attention. The work has been carried out at KTHbased on an initial cooperation with Karolinska Sjukhuset. LÄS MER
2. The Formation and Breakdown of Passive Film on Ni Alloys : in situ synchrotron studies
Sammanfattning : Corrosion results in huge annual costs and a large environmental footprint. The corrosion rate of some alloys can be made negligible by the presence of a spontaneously forming oxide film on the surface, a so-called passive film. Famous examples of alloys exhibiting passivity are stainless steels. LÄS MER
3. Nanocomposite films for corrosion protection
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes technical and scientific aspects of new types of composite films/coatings for corrosion protection of carbon steel, composite films with nanometer thickness consisting of mussel adhesive protein (Mefp‐1) and ceria nanoparticles, and polymeric composite coatings with micrometre thickness consisting of conducting polymer and ceria nanoparticles in a UV‐curing polyester acrylate (PEA) resin. The influence of microstructure on corrosion behaviour was studied for a Fe‐Cr‐V‐N alloy containing micro‐sized nitrides with different chemical composition spread in martensitic alloy matrix. 4. Subsynchronous Resonance in Doubly-Fed Induction Generator Based Wind Farms
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to investigate the risk for instabilities due to SubSynchronousResonances (SSR) conditions in large wind farms connected to series-compensated transmissionlines. In particular, the focus is on Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based windfarms. LÄS MER
