6. Kemistudenters föreställningar om entalpi och relaterade begrepp
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to construct undergraduate chemistry students’ conceptions of enthalpy and its change, internal energy and its change, heat and work. Conceptions make it possible to identify students’ problems with the taught content. How students’ exam results are affected by qualitative/conceptual questions was also investigated. LÄS MER
7. Organization of Nanoparticles in Solution-A TEM Study
Sammanfattning : A new approach to the study of nanoparticle systems has been introduced. Nanoparticle systems in aqueous and organic solutions have been synthesized and studied by transmission electron microscopy. These systems include nanoparticles of gold, silver, palladium, ruthenium, and platinum which have been stabilized using various ligands. LÄS MER
9. Infrared and Photoelectron Spectroscopic Studies of Adsorbates on Solid Surfaces: Experiments and DFT Calculations
Sammanfattning : In general, the more complex and real a system is, with all its interactions with solvents and contaminations etc., the harder it is to accurately model it and reproduce the experimental results by calculations. LÄS MER
10. Chemistry: content, context and choices : towards students' higher order problem solving in upper secondary school
Sammanfattning : Chemistry is often claimed to be difficult, irrelevant, and uninteresting to school students. Even students who enjoy doing science often have problems seeing themselves as being scientists. This thesis explores and challenges the negative perception of chemistry by investigating upper secondary students’ views on the subject. LÄS MER
